Central Hudson Is Committed to Serving Its Community

We all know Central Hudson – our TVs, ovens, lights, and the all-important AC units wouldn’t work without them. But they don’t just deliver our electricity and natural gas. The employees of Central Hudson are also committed to serving the communities where they live and work. Vice President of Public Relations, Denise VanBuren, says “it’s part of our DNA to be involved and to help others where and when we are able.”

When Rebuilding Together Dutchess County (then called “Christmas in April”) was incorporated in 1992, Central Hudson was there. They have been a sponsor for as long as we have been serving Dutchess County. “And that feels darn good,” says VanBuren. “Central Hudson is proud to provide this sponsorship year after year, knowing that our employees will voluntarily step forward to make a meaningful difference in the lives of a local family.”

However, it’s not just about helping the families. VanBuren says it is a wonderful team-building experience and the employees “universally report that they receive far more than they give when they see the homeowner’s reaction to their efforts.”

“Central Hudson has been a valued partner for over 25 years. We are so thankful that as our community impact has grown, so has their commitment to our work. In addition to supporting our Rebuilding Day program both financially and with an amazing team of volunteers, they have recently supported our home safety and fire prevention efforts allowing us to provide life-saving carbon monoxide detectors and exterior lighting for improved homeowner and community safety.”
