On May 24 and June 15, IBM collaborated with RTDC in honor of IBM’s Centennial Celebration of Service.  To celebrate IBM’s one hundredth anniversary, over 50 volunteers from IBM and Youth Build gathered on four different projects in Dover Plains, Poughkeepsie, Beacon, and Wappingers to build ramps for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.  The total value of the work was nearly $50,000 and as a result of these projects, IBM gave a $5000 grant to RTDC.

IBM has a great track record with volunteerism and allowing their employees to volunteer in their own communities.  Tom Bauer, current Board President and IBM employee volunteered for the Centennial Day of Service.   "It's definitely something that's encouraged," he said. "If you talk to your managers about what you're doing, they'll help you."

Executive Director, Christina Boryk: “Organizations like IBM help keep our community thriving.  We are extremely fortunate to have not only their financial support, but also the volunteerism efforts of their employees.  These people are dedicated to helping their community, and with Rebuilding Together helping to provide an outlet, it creates an amazing partnership.”
